SlrGear.com posted a review for the well balanced Sigma 18-250mm.Utilizing in-lens image stabilizers, the Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 Zoom Lens is an all-in-one solution for photographers desiring a single lens for their digital Canon EOS camera. A superzoom lens such as this one is prone to a great deal of image degradation, but Sigma compensates for this effect by incorporating four Special Low Dispersion glass elements, super multi-layer coating, and three aspherical lens elements into the lens design. I really like the ultrazoom lens,it get really heavy to go on a short trip with your bag full of lens of every focal lenght you could use.Getting such an ultrazoom lens will cover most of your range and will weight nothing, and this is a big thing to take in mind. SlrGear.com review conclusion:"Like most ''vacation'' zooms, the trick is to know the parameters where they function best. Sigma's latest iteration of this lens offers a bit more telephoto performance, for which the integrated optical image stabilization is crucially useful."
